You should think about upgrading to 6.5 or 6.7 depending on the hardware you have and move the Vcenter Server to Appliance. But if it falls in line with the other certificates that expired at 2 years, it fits the bill.įor version 6.0 I assume you are using the physical vcenter server is on Windows. I'm finding it difficult to nail down if the STS certificate was supposed to be valid for 2 years or 10 years. I have had help locating STS renewing scripts and procedures, but everything is for VCSA or it requires web gui access to add the new cert. Accessing the web gui is out of the question since Flash is required and it is no longer supported (IA issue). I am under the impression the STS cert has expired but the VMware python script throws errors when I try to check its dates, likely because I'm using 6.0 and it was written for 6.5. Nothing changed other than time between fully operational and none operational. Can now log into VMware again as normal, but when the time is returned to current time, the services no longer start again. Use Certificate Manager to renew using option 8 (reset all), powershell shows all certificates valid. Rewind server time back to when the certificates were good. Used the powershell script to check validity and see expired certificates. Windows flavor VMware 6.0 was working fine, then the services wouldn't start.
